God’s Redemption

I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am. – John Newton

“For the Lord will ransom Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they. (Jeremiah 31:11NIV).

It does not matter how your past has been, God is saying He will bring you into your land of fulfilment as you return to Him in genuine repentance.

Steps to Peace with God

1) God’s Purpose…Peace and Life

God loves you and wants you to know Him so He can fill you with peace and give you real life — forever.

The Bible says:

Because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God (Romans 5:1)

God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never die (John 3:16).

Jesus said:

“I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest” (John 10:10).

Since God planned for us to have peace and real life right now, why are so many people hurting or angry inside?

2) Our Problem…Separation From God

God created us in His own image so we can know Him personally and have a joy-filled life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him, but gave us a will and a freedom of choice. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God and ends in misery.

The Bible says:

All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s holiness (Romans 3:23).

The result of unforgiven sin is death. But God’s gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

The Bible says that disobeying God results in being separated from Him.

Our attempts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried many ways to bridge this gap and reach God — without success.

The Bible says:

Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die (Romans 5:12).

You may think you are on the right road and still end up dead (Proverbs 14:12).

There is only one way to reach God.

3) God’s Remedy…The Cross

Jesus Christ is the only answer to this problem. He is the only One who can bring us back to God. He died on the Cross and rose from the grave, paying the penalty for our sin and bridging the gap between God and people.

The Bible says:

There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God (1 Timothy 2:5).

Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Christ did this to bring you to God (1 Peter 3:18).

But God showed how much He loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful (Romans 5:8).

God has provided the only way — we must make the choice.

4) Our Response…Give Ourselves to Christ

We must trust Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and determine to obey Him for the rest of our lives. That way we can know God and find peace again.

The Bible says:

So you will be saved, if you honestly say, Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death. God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this (Romans 10:9-10).

Is there any good reason why you cannot turn your life over to Jesus Christ right now?

How to give your life to Christ:

Admit you are a sinner and need forgiveness.

Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.

Through prayer, confess that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and commit to live for Him for the rest of your life.

Would you like to give your life over to Jesus Christ right now?

Yes, I would like to give my life to Jesus Christ

No, I am not yet ready and have question

The Plan of God for me

God has thoughts and plans of welfare, peace, goodwill and hope for His people in every generation. When we go through difficult times and situations we are likely to conclude that we have been forgotten by God. We may think we do not count or matter to Him. We may even be so troubled to conclude that God does not see.

For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plan to give you hope and a future,” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV )

As the LORD saw the plights of His children in Egypt and worked out their restoration, He will restore you also today in Jesus’name.

God’s Promises

God’s cheque does not bounce. His bank is ever buoyant. When God makes a promise, He will deliver.

l will make your battlements rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels and your walls of precious stones.” (Isaiah 54:12 NIV)

If there are calamities of any kind in the world, you need not fear because God has sworn to keep you safe always. Be encouraged!

Only God

The enemy of your soul cannot say anything over your life and it would come to pass if the Lord has not allowed it. You must be at peace because that enemy does not have the final say over your matter.

I am the gate. Those who come in by me will be saved; they will come in and go out and find pasture. (John 10:9|GNB)

The Lord God is on your side. He will fight for you today and forever. All you need to do is to hold your peace and you will see the salvation of the Lord.

Striving With God?

To strive with God is not only foolish; it is self destructive. – Femi Okunlola

But doom to you who fight your Maker—you’re a pot at odds with the potter!Does clay talk back to the potter:’What are you doing? What clumsy fingers!’ (Isaiah 45:9|MSG)

Whatever unpleasant situation you are going through, do not resent them, but ask God what He wants you to learn from such experience to make you a better child of His.

Grace Speaks

Legalism says God will love us if we change. The gospel says God will change us because He loves us. – Tullian Tchividjian

Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ . (Galatians 2:16, NIV)

Your spiritual growth qualifies you for God’s grace and liberates you from the scourging effects of the law. God’s grace alone is sufficient for you!

Praise Bring Down His Glory

Are you downcast, overwhelmed by unpleasant situations you are passing through? Are you being terrorised by the kingdom of darkness, and you are about to surrender? Why not try the power of praise? It will surprise you what the Lord will do!

“All together now—applause for God! Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. Say of God, “We’ve never seen anything like him!”When your enemies see you in action, they slink off like scolded dogs. (Psalms 66:1-3|MSG)

Teach me, Lord, the power of praise no matter my situation.

All for God

When you use your life for God’s glory, everything you do can become an act of worship. – Rick Warren

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

BLESSING OF THE MONTH
Welcome to the Second Half of the Year!

In this month of July, the Lord will look into your case and fight for you, He will give you all round peace and perfect all that concerns you, He will keep you and all your loved ones under His pavilion, you shall sing a new song and rejoice in the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus. Happy New Month.

God gives second chances

Listen and God will forgive you and blot your sins away; and will give you the power of the Holy Spirit to live a new life. God gives second chances. He is reaching out to you again to give you another chance to repent. It may be too late for you to repent. God will forgive you and restore you again. But if you continue to disobey and live in sin, God’s anger will descend on you like king Manasseh. That could be fatal. Don’t take God’s grace for granted. Rev. Uche Ikpa.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.(1 John 1:9)

Pray that the Lord will have mercy on you today

Hearing From God?

Nothing hath separated us from God but our own will, or rather our own will is our separation from God. – William Law

The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “when I will send a famine through the land — not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.” (Amos 8:11, NIV)

As a Christian, how often do you hear from God? How much of God’s instructions do you obey? Is God still speaking to you like before or you are not hearing from Him again? Be sincere with yourself. If you have lost touch with Him go back now, He is merciful and compassionate, He will restore you.

God’s steadfast love

God may not give answer to some of our
prayer requests because He is training us to
have absolute trust in Him at all times.
Christians are to be at their best when under
pressure of life. – Unknown

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. (Psalms 33:20|KJV)

Are you troubled? Renew your hope and love
in God today. Expect your breakthrough in
ways beyond your imagination. Always bear
this in mind: God’s steadfast love over you
cannot cease, come what may.

You can’t deceive God

You get faith by studying the Word. Study that Word until something in you “knows that you know” and that you do not just hope that you know. – Carrie Judd Montgomery

Will you say in God’s name what is not right, and put false words into His mouth? (Job.13:7)

Are you living a deceitful life or are you even being deceived? The only antidote to deceit is God’s Word. It is the true light that uncovers all forms of darkness. Study it.

Wisdom

Wisdom helps us see things beyond the present into the future. With wisdom you can weigh your options well and make a right choice. The only way to get hold of this wisdom is by fearing the Lord. To fear the Lord is to pay attention to His instructions and this will in turn earn you wisdom.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7|KJV)

As God’s children, our decisions should be guided by God’s wisdom, especially when it comes to forming associations. We should allow the wisdom of God to guide us in choosing friends and partners that will add value to our lives and not lead us astray. As you go out today, let God’s wisdom guide all your decisions.

God is Just

God is upright and faithful

God is a just God. He deals with people with equity; He is not partial in His judgment. He allows both the wicked and the righteous to continue in their deeds and then rewards each accordingly.

When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. (Psalms 75:2|KJV)

As you go out today, live with the consciousness that God is watching whatever you do – good or bad.

The psalmist reminded the wicked of the fact that God holds in His hands a cup full of His wrath and it is meant for those who do wickedly (Psalm 75:8).

God does not exalt His mercy at the expense of His justice. And in order to maintain His justice, all sin without exception must be punished.

God’s Hedge

There is a natural hedge of protection around God’s people, which can only be removed by them. Yes, you are the only one who can remove that hedge through sin. Even Satan does not have power to remove it.

I from now on will also not drive out from before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died. (Judges 2:21)

To keep God’s hedge around you, you need to keep a constant fellowship with Him through the spiritual disciplines of prayer, Bible study, holy living, and doing His will.

The Scripture says, “…whoever breaks an hedge the serpent shall bite him” (Ecclesiastes 10:8). Unforgiveness, backsliding, disobedience can make us lose God’s protection around us, and it is a dangerous thing to lose it.

Favour of God

It is the favour of God that announces a man

Without the favour of God, it will be impossible to go far in life. His favour separate and move you from the ordinary to the extraordinary

Joel Osteen says “You don’t need everyone to help you. You just need one touch of favour, and you will accomplish in a split second what could have taken your whole lifetime”

A Prayer of David. Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. (Psalms 86:1-3KJV)

Do you desire the favour of God? Then you have to trust Him and obey His commandments, all will go well with you.

As from today, everywhere you go, the favour of God will be evident in your life. Amen

Prayer of humility

God surely listens, understands and knows the hopes and fears you keep in your heart. For when you trust in His love, miracles happen! – Anonymous

Humility makes us persist in prayer because we know that there is no help elsewhere. God wants you to come to Him as you are, without any pretence

Power belong to God

After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; (Revelation 19:1 )

Worshiping in Faith

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Singing faith has to do with rejoicing to declare the greatness of God.

Praising and worshiping the Almighty comes from such a faith even when one’s expectation has not been sighted. It is obvious that wherever a singing faith operates, God Himself is provoked to prove that He is God.

Sing, O heavens, for the LORD has done this wonderful thing. (Isaiah 44:23, NIV)

You can boost the singing faith in you today. Build up such a faith, regardless of intimidations, lack, storms of life around you, and frustrate the token of liars, make diviners mad and confound the wise.

Serving God Faithfully

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Serving God with a pure heart

You can no longer continue to serve God with an unstable or a double mind. God demands a practical Christian service based on His own terms, not yours. His terms are that you serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, (Deuteronomy 10:12|KJV)

Ask for the grace to serve God faithfully and wholeheartedly.

Tongue

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Watch your tongue

The point you need to know as a child of God is that though others may misuse their tongue, you cannot afford to. This is because you belong to Christ, thus everything you do must be to His glory.

Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.” (James 3:5, NIV)

As you go out today, decide in your heart that whatever will come out of your mouth will bring glory to God, and bless people around you.

You are a winner, in Jesus’ name

Today’s 🍞 Bread

No one is as wise as God. It does not make sense struggling with Him. Anytime you are sure it is God speaking and giving direction, the best is to surrender even if it seems unreasonable to you. It may be difficult and painful, but if it is God, His grace is always sufficient.

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. (Exodus 20:20|KJV)

Pray with this:
Every barrier to my fruitfulness and fulfilment in life is removed today in Jesus’ name.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom

Loving God has to do with
reverencing Him. Our love for God is

God is interested in the fact that we fear

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. (Exodus 20:20|KJV)

The great objective of all that God does, including saving us from sins and their consequences, is to bring Him praise and adoration from his redeemed people. – Clifford Pond

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks:, and he was a Samaritan. (Luke 17:15-16|KJV)

True faith in God cannot be separated from a life of thanksgiving and praise. As Christians, we must be careful not to get too familiar with the great works of God to the point of ignoring the act of thanksgiving.

Today’s 🍞 Bread

God’s impartial generosity is proved in that He gives diverse talents, spiritual gifts and ability to humanity according to His ultimate purpose for their lives. It is foolish to envy others. – Femi Okunlola

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; (Romans 12:6|KJV)

How have you been using your gifts to the glory of God or to your own advantage?

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Living to please Christ is a way of demonstrating our gratitude to God

Gratitude is not only what we say, but how we act. How we treat the gifts we have received is usually a reflection of how thankful we are for the gifts.

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7|KJV)

A grateful life is one that overflows with thankfulness not grumbling. A grateful life is also a careful life, jealously guarding the gift of Christ they have received.

Today’s 🍞 Bread

We live in a time when many people are more afraid of the devil than God. We hear so much about the power of Satan and his agents. People also talk about the importance of being connected to people in authority.

“The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. (Psalms 9:9-10|KJV)

While we cannot deny the reality of evil and the positive ways God can use people to assist us, we will be heading in the wrong direction if we lose sight of the powerful God.

Today’s 🍞 Bread

A thankful heart is a grateful heart

We must realise that our situation does not need to change before we give thanks to God. Appreciating God in the path of deliverance and restoration.

“So But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. (Jonah 2:9|KJV)

Give thanks always

In the midst of our challenges, pain and distress, we should an attitude of thanksgiving. God has been faithful to us and to our nation therefore, He deserve thanksgiving.

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Every time somebody wrongs you, every time somebody sins against you, make the decision to immediately forgive them, between you and God. You say, you don’t understand. This person doesn’t deserve to be forgiven. This person abused me all my life. This person nearly destroyed me. Let me ask this. Did Jesus forgive your sins? Does He continue to forgive your sins? Will He continue to forgive your sins in the future?

“So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. (Genesis 50:17|KJV)

If Jesus has forgiven you and you are so glad to receive His forgiveness to you, then why are you so anxious not to give forgiveness to others?

Today’s 🍞 Bread

The law was given to create the awareness of things that are sinful; things that are not acceptable to God. However, it also created the consciousness of sin and this leads to death.

“So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good”. (Romans 7:12, NIV.)

By Faith in Christ, we have the power to walk blameless before God and exchange death for eternal life. Abide in Christ so that you can live peacefully with God and man.

Today’s 🍞 Bread

Contemporary Christians know how to pray hard; fast for days and weep when God has not answered their prayers. But when the Lord answers, they rarely give thanks. Some give thanks briefly and begin to present other requests. This is why we have several prayer centres rather than thanksgiving centres today.

“ And say ye, save us…and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy Holy name, and glory in thy praise. (1 Chronicles 16:35, KJV)

Are we saying you can bribe God with praise to cover your sin? No. But, when you live a life of praise, God’s mercy will triumph over judgment concerning you. You enjoy God better when you learn to praise Him than when you render only requests.

God accepts every person that will come to Him and He wants us to reach people for Him, putting aside our personal biases. So, if you have been purified and have the Holy Spirit in you, you can reach out to others for Christ today.

Bear up the hands that hang down, by faith and prayer; support the tottering knees. Have you any days of fasting and prayer? Storm the throne of grace and perspire there on, and mercy will come down – John Wesley

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, KJV)

If you will trust the Word of God and come to Him, He will not consume you; rather, He will accept and give you grace and mercy.
He is always available to wipe every tear away from His children. Go to Him now and you will not forget the experience all your life.
