Contemporary Christians know how to pray hard; fast for days and weep when God has not answered their prayers. But when the Lord answers, they rarely give thanks. Some give thanks briefly and begin to present other requests. This is why we have several prayer centres rather than thanksgiving centres today.
“ And say ye, save us…and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy Holy name, and glory in thy praise. (1 Chronicles 16:35, KJV)
Are we saying you can bribe God with praise to cover your sin? No. But, when you live a life of praise, God’s mercy will triumph over judgment concerning you. You enjoy God better when you learn to praise Him than when you render only requests.
